Strategy and its Japanese counterpart Metaplanet have also seen recent declines after their stock prices soared over the past year, suggesting that even leaders are not immune to changes in market sentiment. Currently, the crypto treasury strategy is shifting from a craze to skepticism, and the Strategy model is struggling. For some companies, the appeal is obvious: packaging in the form of a listed company can provide cryptocurrency exposure and potential leveraged returns, while using a familiar stock format for investors. In some cases, this model can still command a high premium. But this trading method is becoming crowded: too many companies are flocking to it, with little value other than the tokens they hold. As prices decline, the confidence supporting these premiums begins to waver.
